I began as a Portuguese language tutor in Brazil in 2003 as part of my degree in Literature and Linguistics. Since 2008, I’ve been teaching in the UK at some of the best universities in the country as well as offering private tuition.
I have a passion for reading and a constant desire to learn. My interests are wide-ranging, including cooking, calligraphy, history, literature (particularly Romantic and Medieval) and languages (Latin, Japanese, Italian, and French) to name a few. Many of these interests would be difficult or impossible to pursue locally, so I’ve benefited greatly from online content, which is part of the reason why I’m so passionate about offering my teaching online.
I offer Portuguese language lessons tailored to your needs and goals, with structure, cultural consciousness and intent – all backed up by pedagogical and linguistic competence from my academic background and 15+ years of teaching.

We aim to provide helpful materials for Portuguese learners through private tuition online, regular blog posts, Instagram posts and YouTube videos. The topics of the blog and videos include Grammar, Speaking, Language Learning and Culture and Curiosities. Written by an experienced and knowledgeable language specialist, they focus on areas of language that students most often struggle with and offer clear and informative explanations.
As well as tips and advice on how to learn the language effectively, I write about aspects of Brazilian, Portuguese and Lusophone (Portuguese-speaking) cultures I think are worth knowing – literature, travel, traditions and more!
