Things to note

Ready to book your Portuguese lessons?

Please note that all my groups (Beginner A1, Beginner A2, and Intermediate B2) are currently fully booked and therefore not displayed as an option here. New groups normally open every 12 weeks, so please check again in early September 2022.

In the meantime, why not start with one-to-one lessons and take advantage of the 10 lessons package discount!

Your lesson doesn't always have to be dictated by the coursebook,

it can also be just like a coffee with a friend.

we'll connect via zoom

Zoom is a webconferencing service which hosts our online live Portuguese lessons.

There’s no need to download anything – you can join the class by clicking on the weblink I send you before the lesson. If you wish, you can watch a video Zoom has prepared for students joining a meeting for the first time. You can watch it here.

During the lesson

Our lesson will follow your personal study plan, which we’ll agree on in our first meeting. But here’s how it generally goes:

  • We’ll warm up with an activity or a casual chat
  • Homework review + go over any questions you have
  • Focused practice of the skill(s) of the day e.g. pronunciation, reading, writing, listening

Homework and self-study

Depending on how much time you can dedicate to self-study, I’ll give you appropriate tasks for consolidating the topics from the previous lesson.

  • Homework review and feedback will be part of your next lesson. To help me prepare, I ask you to send me your work at least 24h before the next lesson
  • Students often find this 24h rule helpful for staying accountable to their own learning and study goals

Personal Study Plan

You are in charge of your own learning, so in our first meeting we’ll create a personal study plan, identifying:

  • realistic goals and timeframes
  • key focus of your language learning
  • appropriate approach and strategies for achieving your goals

I am here to guide you and help you stay accountable to your personal study plan and update your goals as necessary.
